Skate 3 Browser Controls: Keyboard & Controller Setup

Keyboard or controller — here's every default binding for the browser port, plus how the famous flick-it trick system actually works.

Does Skate 3 Browser Play Support Keyboard Controls?

These are the browser port's default keybinds — every one of them can be remapped in Settings → Controls inside the game.

ActionDefault keyNotes
Steer / body lean (left stick)W A S DAlso spins your body in the air
Flick tricks (right stick)↑ ↓ ← →The heart of the game — see flick primer below
PushSpaceHold to keep pushing
Crouch / tuckShiftHold to crouch; also used in the speed glitch
Brake / powerslideCtrlSlow down or slide into a line
Grab (in air)EHold, then combine with arrow directions
Spin left / rightQ / RQuick 180s and rotations
Hop off boardFWalk around and set up lines
Reset to spotTInstantly back to your last spot
Pause / menuEscCheats live here too — see codes

Tip: the default scheme splits the two sticks between your left hand (WASD) and right hand (arrows), mirroring how a controller is held. If it feels awkward, remap freely — some players bind flicks to the mouse instead.

Flick-It Tricks: Ollie, Kickflip & Heelflip

Skate 3's genius is that tricks are gestures, not buttons. The right stick (or your arrow keys) flicks the board the way your foot would:

Ollie

Flick ↓ then ↑ quickly — load the tail, pop the nose. The timing is a snap, not a hold.

Kickflip

Flick ↓ then sweep to the →. Half-circle motions add 360 variations — that's your tre flip.

Heelflip

Flick ↓ then sweep to the ←. Same grammar, opposite direction.

Grabs & tweaks

Hold E in the air and steer the arrows to grab, tweak and poke your board like a proper hucker.

Practice in free skate at University plaza: five clean kickflips in a row, then five heelflips, then ollie onto a manual pad. That's genuinely the fastest way to build flick memory.

How to Map Controller Buttons for Skate 3 Browser Play

The port auto-detects gamepads through the browser's Gamepad API. Supported out of the box:

  • Xbox controllers (One / Series) — USB or Bluetooth, prompts match instantly
  • DualShock 4 & DualSense — USB or Bluetooth
  • Switch Pro controller — USB; Bluetooth works on most systems
  • Generic XInput pads — if your PC sees it, the game sees it

Do You Need a Controller to Play Skate 3 on Cloud Browser?

Does Skate 3 browser version support keyboard and mouse?
Yes — full keyboard support with remappable binds (WASD steers, arrow keys flick, Space pushes). The mouse handles menus only; gameplay is keyboard-first, and plenty of players skate exclusively on keyboard.
Do I need a controller to play Skate 3 on web browser?
No, but you might want one. The game was designed around analog sticks, so flicks feel more precise on a gamepad. It's preference, not requirement.
How do I map controller buttons for Skate 3 browser play?
Connect the pad, press any button to wake detection, then open Settings → Controls to view or rebind. Defaults mirror the original console scheme.
Can I remap keys for one-handed or accessibility play?
Yes — every keyboard bind is remappable in Settings → Controls, so you can consolidate steering and flicks onto whichever keys work for you.
